Walkthrough and written scope
We look at every room in the scope, note the repairs the walls actually need, agree sheens and colours, and email a written estimate the same day. You know what is included before anything starts.

Protection
Floors covered, furniture moved to the centre of the room and wrapped, fixtures and hardware removed or masked. This is the step that decides whether you are cleaning up after us.

Repair and preparation
Nail holes and dents filled, drywall damage patched, texture matched to the surrounding wall, glossy surfaces scuff-sanded so the new coat has something to grip, and stains spot-primed so they cannot bleed through.

Cutting in and coating
Ceilings first, then walls, then trim and doors. Cutting in by hand along ceilings, baseboards and casings is what produces the crisp lines you notice every day.

Clean-up and walkthrough
The workspace is left clean at the end of every day, not just at the end of the job. We finish with a walkthrough together, and nothing is invoiced until you are satisfied.

Interior work in Northwest Florida has one local wrinkle worth planning around: humidity. Bathrooms and laundry rooms without strong ventilation stay damp long enough for mildew to establish on the wall, which is why we recommend a mildew-inhibiting product and a harder-wearing sheen in those rooms rather than the same flat used in a bedroom. Ceiling stains are worth investigating before they are painted over — in this climate a stain is usually moisture telling you something, and coating it just hides the evidence.
What Affects the Price
Every estimate is priced on the property in front of us rather than a per-square-foot table, because condition changes the work more than size does. These are the factors that move the number most:
- Total wall, ceiling and trim area — not just the number of rooms
- Ceiling height, and whether stairwells or vaulted spaces need staging
- How much drywall repair, texture matching or wallpaper removal the walls need first
- Whether ceilings and trim are included or only walls
- How many colours are involved, and whether a dark-to-light change needs extra coats
- Product grade and sheen — a scrubbable kitchen or bath finish costs more than a bedroom flat

Interior Painting — Common Questions
Do I need to move out while you paint the inside of my house?
Almost never. We work room by room on a schedule built around your household, and we use low-VOC paints so the house stays livable while the work runs. Most people carry on as normal and simply avoid the room being worked on that day. Whole-house repaints on a tight deadline are the exception worth discussing.
What sheen should I use in each room?
As a rule: flat or matte on ceilings and low-traffic adult rooms because it hides surface imperfections; eggshell on most walls, which wipes clean while still forgiving minor drywall flaws; satin in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and kids' rooms where humidity and cleaning demand more; semi-gloss on trim, doors and baseboards. Do you repair walls, or only paint them?
Repair is part of the job. Nail holes, dents, drywall damage, cracked corner bead and failed caulk all get addressed before any paint goes on, and we match existing texture so the repair disappears rather than showing as a smooth patch under a fresh coat. Larger structural or water-damage repairs are a separate conversation, and we will tell you honestly if that is what you are looking at.
How do you protect furniture and floors?
Furniture is moved to the centre of the room and covered, floors are protected across the full working area, and hardware, fixtures and switch plates are removed or masked rather than cut around. At the end of every day the workspace is cleaned up — not left staged until the end of the project.
Can you match a colour I already have?
Usually yes. Bring us the original can, a leftover sample, or a piece of the painted surface and we can get very close. Be aware that the same colour in a different sheen, or under different lighting, reads differently — which is worth checking on a sample area before committing a whole room to it.
