Professional Painters in Cantonment

Established brick and siding homes throughout Cantonment — interior refreshes, full exterior repaints, and everything in between.

Cantonment sits north of Pensacola along the Highway 29 corridor, and the building stock reflects a community that grew steadily through the 1970s, 80s and 90s: a lot of brick ranches with painted trim and soffits, a lot of vinyl and wood siding, and larger lots with mature tree cover.

That tree cover is the local wrinkle. Shade holds moisture against a wall long after the rest of the house has dried, so mildew and algae staining on north and east elevations is more common here than on an open lot closer to the water. Treating that growth rather than coating over it is what decides whether the finish still looks clean in year three.

Properties We Paint in Cantonment

  • Brick ranch homes with painted trim, fascia and soffits
  • Vinyl and wood-sided homes on larger wooded lots
  • Newer subdivision construction off Highway 29
  • Detached garages, workshops and outbuildings

What Makes Painting in Cantonment Different

  • Heavy tree cover keeps walls damp and encourages mildew and algae on shaded elevations.
  • Brick homes concentrate the work in trim, fascia, soffits and garage doors, where failed caulk shows first.
  • Pollen and organic debris need washing off before coating, or they end up sealed under the finish.
  • Well water can leave iron staining on exterior walls where sprinklers hit the house.

Painting in Cantonment — Common Questions

My Cantonment house is brick — is there anything to paint?

Usually plenty. On a brick home the exterior work concentrates in the trim, fascia, soffits, porch ceilings, shutters, front door and garage door — the elements that take the weather and fail first. Those are also the parts that most change how the house reads from the street. Brick itself can be painted, but it is a one-way decision, so we will talk it through honestly before you commit.

There is green and black staining on the shaded side of my house. Will paint cover it?

Painting over it does not work — mildew and algae are living growth, and they come back through a fresh coat. The surface has to be washed with a mildewcide and allowed to dry properly first. Where the growth is caused by something structural, like a sprinkler hitting the wall or a gutter overflowing, we will point it out, because fixing that is what stops it returning.

Do you cover the newer subdivisions off Highway 29?

Yes — all of Cantonment, including new construction. Newer homes usually need far less repair work in the prep stage, so more of the budget goes into the coating itself. Interior colour changes, accent walls and cabinet refinishing are the most common requests we get on newer builds.
